The Sports Mode Method
This method works on some models better than others but is worth trying. In particular, it shows good results on semi-modified units. On some of the newer 1999 models it has no effect at all.
Simply switch the camera to "Sports Mode" while in NightShot mode and you may be able to film in daylight. This is not a 100% fix and the camera may still white-out in very bright sunshine but it is definitely worth trying.
Sports Mode is usually selected by turning the AE wheel to the figure of a person swinging a golf club as illustrated above.
